House-Wide TV, Wi-Fi & Security | Tunbridge Wells, Kent
The best technology in a home is the kind that never needs explaining.
The client — a respected local estate agent with an eye for property detail — arrived at the brief with clarity about the outcome and no particular interest in the means.
A modern home that worked completely: television in every room, reliable connectivity throughout, security covered. The technology itself could remain invisible. They would trust us on everything else.
The building’s construction posed an early challenge. Built from concrete-filled polystyrene blocks — a choice that gives the house its excellent thermal performance — the structure effectively shielded each room from the next, attenuating Wi-Fi signal between spaces in a way a standard domestic system would never overcome. We designed a Unifi network from the ground up, with access points positioned across the building to deliver consistent connectivity to every room, including the basement gym where concrete and depth compound the challenge.
The gym presented a specific problem for the display installation. The basement waterproofing membrane runs behind the wall finishes, making any penetration a risk to the building fabric. A Future Automation ceiling bracket gave us the answer — the Sony display suspended cleanly from above, with no contact with the walls.
Across all four rooms — living room, family room, master bedroom and gym — Sony displays are paired with Sonos soundbars. Each space works independently; all can be managed together. Unifi cameras and a smart doorbell cover the external perimeter, with AJAX providing the security layer throughout.
By handover, nothing required explanation.
